Description
OVERVIEW
Gold State Music (GSM) is a private investment firm focused on investing in the music sector. Our funds are focused primarily on investing in music rights (music publishing and recorded music rights) as well as in enterprises in need of growth and expansion capital.
GSM was founded in 2022 by Charles Goldstuck, and currently has offices in West Palm Beach, FL, New York, NY, and Lake Nona, FL (Orlando). Our funds are expected to deploy a total of $750 million through the first fund cycle. We have an experienced team comprised of industry professionals who are deeply rooted in the music ecosystem.
INVESTMENT STRATEGY
GSM invests principally in active artist and creator rights, focusing on creators who have had chart success and are still active in their careers. We invest in artist, writer and producer rights, and consider investments between $2 million and $125 million as our prime investment opportunities. Our experienced fund team are skilled in creating opportunities and thus value, in order to enhance the performance of our owned catalog rights.
GSM also focuses on enterprise investments, and targets companies that are characterized by attractive fundamentals: healthy growth rates, exceptional leadership and management teams, have growth capital requirements, potential for attractive margins, and well-established market positioning.
GSM invests only in the music and music-adjacent sectors. We know these sectors exceptionally well and invest in select opportunities where our skills and experience can help management teams build significant businesses. We are an active investor. We generally invest in minority positions that allow for board participation, where we can bring our skills and experience to bear. We participate in the strategic planning of our portfolio companies, and assist in executive recruiting, capital allocation, expansion opportunities, and ultimate liquidity options. We are attracted to proprietary opportunities that generally present themselves as a consequence of our deep participation in the sector. We are thus a very active partner to our management teams.
GSM takes a long-term perspective regarding our investments. We are committed to helping our companies succeed.
